Mommy Freelancing, Music, Jobs, Work

Freelancing Momma,

Well, we finally have retrained our sweetie to fall asleep by herself. She actually did do that until she started crawling in May. Then one vacation trip after another, and before you know it, sleep became a contest between who got tired faster - baby or mommy & daddy!

So now I have put her down for a morning nap. She sleeps soundly (after crying for a little while). And I had time to shower (wow, a shower!) and continue work on a music project for a client. I have been freelancing a lot. I find that freelancing gives me the freedom to spend time with my daughter and hubby and helps me make the money we need to break even each month.

The recession has not been terribly difficult, yet, but a new baby and a freeze on all raises at the university have made paying the bills difficult. Right now I work as an adjunct, freelance, and took a cleaning job to help with bills. Even if I wanted to work full-time, there are no jobs in our town. Hubby even applied to second jobs at Walmart and CVS, but no one wants to hire someone with a master's for a minimum wage job.

Anyway, I am debating on a music class for my daughter. I would love to sign her up, but I feel like a music class seems to be a luxury, especially when she gets so much music at home already. Maybe in the spring.

Well, I have to get back to work. My friends and I are planning on going to an indoor playground and the mall with the kids today (unless my friend happens to have her baby today!)

Smiles and happiness to you,

Mami Mozart
